Lyndhurst & District

GROUPS

Please note that you must be a member of Lyndhurst & District U3A to belong to a Group.

Groups are either led by any member with relevant knowledge, experience or simply an interest in the subject or operate collectively with one member being the contact. You can click on the name of the group below for further information and also on how to make contact. It is u3a policy that paid instructors are not used.

Some Groups meet in members' homes or gardens but others need more suitable space and then any cost, such as room hire, is shared between that Group's members.

We are keen to support more Groups and extend the range of subjects and activities available to our members. If you would like to run a Group or make suggestions about existing or new Groups, our Groups Coordinator will be pleased to hear from you. To send an email click on the envelope link on this page. Suggestions for new interest groups are always welcomed.

Be aware that new u3a interest groups can only be set up with the prior approval of the committee.

Group leaders using the Lyndhurst Community Centre for meetings must sign in on a register kept at the front desk and sign out out the end of the meeting. A list of members attending must be kept to be used as a register in case of fire.

Car Sharing for Groups

To have a consistent policy a figure of 40p per mile is suggested for traveling to/from u3a events.

NATIONAL U3A ASSISTANCE AND RESOURCES

The National u3a website has lots of useful aids and details of Group Advisers available. The National u3a library of D.V.Ds, C.Ds, videos, slides and audiocassettes (but not books) is available and you can borrow items for just the cost of the postage.
